The guidance presented in this CME is primarily derived from publicly available sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) opioid prescribing guidelines, Oregon State Resource for Professionals Treating Pain, Acute Pain Management: Meeting the Challenges by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and current National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recommendations on the treatment of opioid use disorder.
